Thurston and Peters Sugarhouse, LLC is all about the dream of Harry Hartford to do what his ancestors had done until 1948. A heated sugarhouse replaces an outdoor evaporator previously housed in a shed on the hill. Buckets collected by hand have been replaced by miles of plastic tubing. An oil fired 3 X 10 Delaire evaporator replaces the wood. The boiling time has
been cut by hours, due to the process of reverse osmosis that separates the sugar concentrate from the permeate water. “TAPS” makes maple syrup the “new fashioned” way with “old fashioned” hospitality!
This is the "sugarhouse that shares the history of its land"!
